Dr Alice Rudd founded Stella to give more people a simple way to understand their skin over time—alongside routines, life stages and the wider context around it.
A personal record for everyday understanding—not diagnosis or prescription.

Through her work as a dermatologist, Alice saw how difficult it was for people to build a clear picture of their own skin.
Skin changes between treatments, through routines and life stages, and across ordinary days that are easy to forget once the moment has passed. Most people are left piecing that history together from memory, occasional photographs and product claims.
Specialist care is valuable, but not everyone can access it whenever a question arises—and it should not be the only place someone can begin learning about their skin.
Stella began as a simple, everyday touchpoint: a way to make change visible, preserve the surrounding context and give people something more useful than memory alone.
Stella is designed around continuity, context and informed agency—not a one-time verdict.
A scan records one moment. A dated history makes gradual movement, recurring fluctuations and periods worth revisiting easier to see.
Products are only one part of skin. Routines, sun exposure, life stages such as menopause and selected health context can sit beside the same timeline without being mistaken for a cause.
A clearer personal record can guide everyday decisions and help someone begin a more meaningful conversation with a professional when they choose to seek one.
Seeing change is not the same as knowing its cause. Stella keeps those things distinct, so your own history becomes a useful place to start.
Skincare can be useful. Professional care can be essential. Stella’s role is to help people see their own record more clearly before any single product, claim or moment becomes the whole explanation.
Alice’s path into dermatology shaped Stella’s combination of scientific restraint and everyday usefulness.
01 · Medicine
Alice studied medicine at Monash University before working at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where dermatology brought together the medical, procedural and aesthetic parts of care that interested her.
02 · Research and training
She began running clinical trials and dermatology research, completed specialist training in Australia and spent a year working in the NHS in the United Kingdom.
03 · Dermatology practice
Alice became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2013 and went on to build a practice grounded in evidence, prevention and long-term skin health.
Dermatology, technology and operations each keep a different part of the product honest.
